May 6, 2022
Good evening, Pirates.
I have shared a lot of facts and figures with you throughout this school year in these Friday Messages. Most were about our student and teacher accomplishments, our district’s growth or our bond committee studies. Early May gives me a chance to share a couple of new “Did You Know?” numbers about voting.
Did you know?
Almost 5,800 voters participated in early voting this year throughout Kaufman County, but more than 87,000 people are registered as voters.
Did you know?
Almost 600 people cast an early voting ballot within Crandall ISD, but more than 12,000 people are registered as voters within the district.
Tomorrow is Election Day. I am taking one last opportunity to encourage you all to make sure your voices are heard—get out and vote. Voting is one of the most impactful things you can do for yourself and your community.
By now you know CISD has a school board position and a school bond on the ballot. The bond has three sections to vote on:
- Proposition A includes new schools, new buses, security, technology, expansion to Crandall High School and a Career-Technology Education Center
- Proposition B includes renovations to Pirate Stadium
- Proposition C includes a Performing Arts Center
The bond election will not increase your tax rate. Go exercise your right to vote tomorrow at your precincts. Polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
