A Message from the Chief

Welcome to the Crandall Independent School District Police Department!

As Chief of Police, I am proud to lead a department of dedicated law enforcement professionals who share a common commitment to protecting our students, staff, and the entire Pirate community.

Our department employs 12 full-time sworn police officers who bring a wealth of knowledge, training, and experience from diverse law enforcement backgrounds. Our officers have served in large metropolitan police departments, county sheriff's offices, and other law enforcement agencies. Several have also proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army. This collective experience provides our district with a team of highly capable professionals who understand the importance of service, leadership, and protecting others.

Our mission is simple: Keep our students and staff safe. But our purpose goes far beyond the badge.

We believe that effective school-based policing is built on relationships, trust, and genuine connections with the students and families we serve. While responding to emergencies and protecting our campuses are essential responsibilities, some of the most important work our officers do happens during everyday interactions with students.

It happens through conversations in the hallways, a friendly greeting in the morning, attending school events, or simply being there when a student needs someone to talk to.

Our goal is for every student to see their campus police officer as more than someone who enforces the law. We want our officers to be mentors, positive role models, and, most importantly, trusted adults students feel comfortable approaching when they need help, guidance, or someone who will listen.

We are also fortunate to serve alongside a dedicated district administration that understands a fundamental truth: We cannot ensure an environment where students can learn if we do not first ensure an environment where they feel safe. Safety is the foundation upon which education, opportunity, and student success are built.

Our commitment to the Pirate community is grounded in three core values: Compassion, Character, and Community. These values guide how we serve, how we interact with others, and how we approach the responsibilities entrusted to us.

As your Chief of Police, I want our students, parents, teachers, and staff to know that our officers are not simply assigned to your schools. We are part of your schools. We are invested in your success, committed to your safety, and proud to serve this community.

Thank you for the trust you place in our department each day. It is a responsibility we take seriously and a privilege we never take for granted.

Protecting Tomorrow's Leaders Today.
