One Community. Every Student. Excellence for All.

College, Career, and Military Readiness

Crandall ISD is committed to preparing every student for life after high school. Through our College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) initiatives, students explore multiple pathways to success, including advanced academics, career and technical education, industry certifications, dual credit opportunities, and military service options. Our goal is to ensure that every Pirate graduates with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in college, a career, the military, or wherever their path may lead.

  • While these exams may be optional for entrance into the school, it is still recommended that students take these exams for various scholarship and financial aid opportunities.

    PSAT Testing

The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized test that 11th graders (and some 10th graders) take in October. Like the SAT, it measures the knowledge and skills in reading, writing, and math students learn in the classroom—the same knowledge and skills your child needs to succeed in college and career.  Information on registration is sent out at the beginning of the school year.

    Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA)

The TSI Assessment (TSIA) is part of the Texas Success Initiative program designed to help your college or university determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment - unless you are already exempt - to determine your readiness for college-level work.

Based on how you perform, you may either be enrolled in a college-level course and/or be placed in the appropriate developmental course or intervention to improve your skills and prepare you for success in college-level courses.
