Celebration and exercise. Next week, both of those opportunities will be at the forefront of our district—one is to celebrate the championship legacy of our students with a CISD Spring Parade and the other is to exercise your right to vote.
Our Crandall High School cheerleaders claimed their third-consecutive state title and their first-ever national championship this spring. This marked the fourth time in five years our team won state (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022). Our CHS Gold Dusters also added to their trophy case in February at the International Star Grand Prix. The drill team was named Grand Champions and Best of the Best at one of the nation’s premier dance competitions.
We are recognizing both next Monday, April 25, with a CISD Spring Parade. Together with the City of Crandall, and with help from the Combine Fire Department, both squads will travel from Martin Elementary to Main Street in downtown. The CHS Drum Line, CMS cheer squad and CISD Police Department will also take part. Come help us celebrate these wonderful Pirates.
Early voting also kicks off next week, running April 25-May 3. For the first time in our district, we have two locations available where you can cast a ballot—the Crandall/Combine Community Center and Noble-Reed Elementary. The CISD bond package is among those items listed and this video helps explain more. Remember, three propositions (A, B and C) are listed individually on the ballot and all were recommended by the community’s Long-Range Planning Committee earlier this year. Voters can make their choice on each of the three.
We have a great week ahead of us, Pirates. Take the opportunity to be engaged. Celebrate our students and exercise your right to vote.
