As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, it is important to look around and appreciate all of the blessings in our lives. Many events are coming up within Crandall and CISD where students and community members can give back.

The high school is currently holding a food drive that doubles as a competition among the grades. Students can bring non-perishable items and drop them in their English teachers' classrooms.

November 12, 2022, Junior Garrison Moore and the National Honor Society are holding the 3rd annual ‘Fill the Trailer’ food drive in downtown Crandall from 11:00a-4:30p. The admission “fee” is donations of non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items. There will be live music, a classic car show, and a bounce house. This will be lots of fun and a great way to give back. The goal is to fill a trailer of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to be donated to The Center in Kaufman.

While we may not have hit Thanksgiving yet, this can also be a time of planning how to give back during the Christmas season. At the Crandall police station, there is an angel tree ready to be picked apart. So stop by to choose a child you want to spoil this year for Christmas.

Pirates look out for one another and our community. CISD is so thankful for everyone in the community and within our school district. We hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving and remember that there is always PUMPKIN to be thankful for!
