CISD Trustees continued advancing the district’s internal leadership pipeline at Monday night’s regular board meeting, approving the move of two Pirates into campus and central office management positions. Jennifer Scott was named principal of the district’s sixth elementary campus and Dianna Casper was named chief financial officer.

Scott is currently serving as assistant principal at Crandall Middle School. She is in her 14th year of education and was hired for CMS in May 2022 from Rusk Middle School in Dallas ISD. In DISD, she also worked as the district’s social studies supervisor for grades 3-12 and as a campus instructional coach at the Young Women’s STEAM Academy.

Elementary 6 is planned to open this August as the 2023-24 school year begins. It is designed to accommodate 850 students.

Casper is currently the purchasing director for CISD and has more than 15 years in education. She came to the district from Denton ISD where she served in the same position. She also worked as assistant purchasing director in Keller ISD and purchasing accountant for ESC Region 11.

Casper is the vice-chair of curriculum for the Purchasing and Supply Management Research Committee of TASBO (Texas Association of School Business Officials).

Board members also celebrated CTE (Career & Technical Education) Month by looking  look at some of the achievements and accomplishments being made in a Crandall High School business management class. Students in Keith Regester’s course last month opened the “Arrrr Spot”—a new store selling goods to students and staff, during the day, at school.
