Members of the CMS coaching staff have spent their summer helping their students be active and work on their skills. They are taking time to engage their students and care for their students outside of school.

Coach Patrick Luecke, along with Courtney and Wynn Posey, have spent the summer coaching C.H.E. Track Club. Their 14 CISD students range in age from grades 5-12.

Competing in Region 18 of Texas AAU Track & Field --  which spans from DFW to the northern panhandle area -- each student has competed in at least 15 events across three meets this summer. Seven are set to compete at next month’s Junior Olympics near Houston, where they will face competitors from all over the country.

Dr. Terry Eason, along with Ken Butler and CHS student, Brandon Callahan, coached a summer basketball team for eighth grade boys to develop skills and fundamentals. They practiced twice weekly and recently concluded their season in a North Texas regional tournament.

“I know that in order for the players to develop, I need to be able to create fun, positive, and informative practices. That is my commitment. Players also need to be interested in developing,” said Dr. Eason.
