Crandall ISD Announces 2026–2028 UIL Realignment and New District Opponents

Crandall, Texas — Crandall Independent School District has received its new district alignments following the latest realignment by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The updated alignments will take effect beginning with the 2026–2027 school year and remain in place through spring 2028.
Under the new alignment, Crandall High School will compete in District 7–5A for football and District 15–5A for all other UIL-sanctioned sports.
Football Alignment (District 7–5A)
For football, Crandall will face a competitive district that includes three Dallas ISD schools—Dallas Bryan Adams, Dallas Sunset, and Dallas WT White—along with three Mesquite ISD schools—Mesquite, North Mesquite, and West Mesquite—and Tyler High School. This lineup brings a mix of established programs and familiar North Texas competitors to Crandall’s football schedule over the next two seasons.
All Other Sports (District 15–5A)
For all other UIL sports, Crandall will compete alongside Cedar Hill and DeSoto, both moving down from 6A, as well as Corsicana, Ennis, Lancaster, Midlothian, and Midlothian Heritage. This district creates new matchups and competitive opportunities for Pirate student-athletes across multiple sports.
UIL realignment occurs every two years based on enrollment and other factors to ensure competitive balance across the state. Crandall ISD will remain in these districts through spring 2028, with the next UIL realignment scheduled for February 2028.
Under the direction of Kyle Hardin, Athletic Director for Crandall ISD, Pirate athletic programs will continue to focus on competitive excellence, sportsmanship, and the overall development of student-athletes as they prepare to compete in the new districts.
