Crandall ISD’s Back to School Bash Brings Community Together with Fun, Resources, and Generosity

August 2, 2025 – Crandall, TX
Crandall ISD hosted its second annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 2, welcoming hundreds of families for a day of support, excitement, and community spirit. With a vibrant Monopoly-themed event, students and families made their way through a series of stops across the “game board,” collecting stickers to reach the ultimate prize, a free snow cone, courtesy of Vista Church, which handed out more than 600 snow cones throughout the day.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of DLR Group and the Crandall ISD Education Foundation, the district gave away 750 backpacks filled with school supplies, helping students start the year prepared and confident. Families also received free pencils donated by C-Life Church in Kaufman, adding a thoughtful touch of extra support.
The first stop on the Monopoly board ensured students were ready for the school year with help stations for enrollment, transportation, food service assistance, and Free and Reduced Meals applications. From there, families could visit Health Services, where on-site services included immunizations, vision screenings, glasses, and SchoolMed information.
One of the most popular stops was the free backpack distribution, followed closely by the free haircut station staffed by Crandall High School Cosmetology students and instructor, along with local stylist Ashley Groom. Fresh cuts and school supplies helped students walk into the new year feeling their best.
The final destination was Resource Central in the gym, where families connected with PTOs, Booster Clubs, Crandall ISD Athletics, Fine Arts, Curriculum teams, and local organizations. Ink It Printing was also on-site printing shirts, while families learned about yearbook opportunities and community resources. The Chick-fil-A Cow made special appearances, handing out free food coupons and taking photos with students. Canes was also there, showing their support for our Pirate community.
“We are so grateful to all of our donors, community partners, staff, and volunteers who helped make this day a success,” said event organizers, Nicole Tudor and Amanda Roberts. “It was a true team effort and a celebration of what it means to be part of the Crandall ISD family.”
With its strong turnout and enthusiastic participation, the Back to School Bash has quickly become a cherished tradition in Crandall ISD. After such a fun and successful day, one thing is clear, we can’t wait until next year!
