Happy Sunday, Pirates!
It's great to be with you again. We want to take a moment to thank some team members who helped make this past week — and our April Fools celebration — a fun time here in Crandall. A big thank you to my production team, our high school cheerleaders, and of course, Ms. Crystal Holmes, who helped bring that video to life. We hope you enjoyed it and got a good laugh from our April Fools joke!

April is a busy month, and while I wish I had time to highlight every single event, we simply can’t fit it all into a three-minute video. Be sure to check out our district Facebook page, where we do a great job keeping you updated on district-wide events. Also, don’t forget to follow your campus S’mores newsletters for more details specific to your school.

Here are a few important things happening this week:

First, it's National Library Week! We have 17 dedicated professionals in our district who care for our libraries and inspire a love for reading in our students. If you know one of them, please take a moment to thank them for their incredible work.

Second, we’re celebrating Assistant Principal Week. We are so fortunate to have outstanding assistant principals across our district. They handle countless responsibilities, build strong relationships with students, and play a vital role in our daily operations. Thank you for everything you do — we truly couldn’t do it without you.

Finally, I want to invite you to our upcoming State of the District event. I’ll be hosting two evening sessions in late April to update our community on how we’ve used bond funds, discuss upcoming projects, district growth, operations, budget planning, and more.

  • Join us on April 22 at Opal Smith, where we’ll have a Spanish interpreter available.

  • Or attend on April 24 at Central Office.

We hope you’ll come out to learn more about all the important work happening behind the scenes.

Before we go, a quick reminder: There is no school for staff or students on Monday. Staff will return Tuesday for a professional development day, and students will return on Wednesday.

We’re looking forward to a great spring semester ahead. Have a wonderful weekend, Pirates!
