CTE Students in Business Practicum prepare to become business leaders from teacher, Keith Regester

Crandall has brought many new classes throughout the years, but recently the Business Practicum classes have been catching everyone’s attention. Keith Regester has been directing this class and has even gotten many of the students interviewed in different places. For example, when Rusted Rail Golf Course came to the high school as requested, they hired six out of the total 14 students enrolled in the practicum class. I was able to contact Mr. Keith Regester about his class and ask a few questions.

Q: What would you say the intent of the class is?

Mr. Keith Regester: The goal of Pirate Business is to give students the opportunity to experience hands-on internships while working with community partners in real jobs. We will also be launching a Retail store, known as ARRR Spot, in January 2023. These students are the leaders in Business management.

Q: What are some skills students learn within the class?

Mr. Keith Regester: Students learn Strategic Thinking, Collaboration and Effective Communication. At the end of the year, they will be well-rounded when entering the job market.

Q: What is your vision for the class in the future?

Mr. Keith Regester: My goal for Pirate Business is to have students work in multiple departments throughout the district. Students will learn multiple facets of managing a business, a school, a restaurant, and so much more. All in all, the opportunity to work while learning is a true game-changer for those who accept the challenge.

Mr. Keith Regester is actively preparing students for the workforce. He is preparing Pirates to become business leaders and excel in whatever they put their minds to. CISD is so thankful to have a leader like Mr. Keith Regester as a proud pirate.
