Crandall Independent School District (CISD) earned an A – Superior Achievement rating in the Texas FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) for the 2023-24 school year. Chief Financial Officer Todd Garrison presented the district’s financial performance report during a public hearing at last night's Board of Trustees meeting, highlighting CISD’s commitment to financial transparency and accountability.

About School FIRST
Texas FIRST, developed by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), evaluates school districts’ financial management to ensure funds are used efficiently for classroom instruction while maintaining transparency. Districts are rated on a scale from A – Superior Achievement (90-100 points) to F – Substandard Achievement (below 70 points).

Public Hearing and Financial Report
CISD prepared its annual financial management report as required by law, detailing financial operations and accountability measures. The public hearing allowed community members to review the district’s financial performance and provide feedback.

Superintendent Dr. Murry stated, “This rating reflects our commitment to financial excellence and transparency. We are dedicated to being good stewards of taxpayer dollars while ensuring exceptional educational opportunities for our students.”
