Crandall ISD has been recognized by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) with the 2025 Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations, an honor given to school districts that demonstrate excellence in purchasing and procurement practices.

The Award of Merit, established in 2009, acknowledges Texas school districts, open-enrollment charter schools, and education service centers that are committed to upholding the highest professional standards in acquiring goods and services. Crandall ISD is among an elite group of only 80 school districts in the state to receive this distinguished recognition for 2025.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Business Office team, particularly our Purchasing Coordinator, Ashley Smith, who has played a crucial role in ensuring our purchasing operations meet the highest standards,” said Todd Garrison, Crandall ISD Chief Financial Officer. “We are committed to maintaining transparency, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility, and I am proud of our team’s efforts in achieving this award.”

A TASBO committee of purchasing professionals evaluated award applicants based on stringent criteria, including organizational structure, contract management, staff training, and overall policies and procedures. By earning this recognition, Crandall ISD continues to demonstrate its commitment to fiscal responsibility and operational excellence.

Crandall ISD will be formally honored at the 2025 TASBO Annual Conference, where award recipients will be celebrated for their dedication to sound financial management and ethical procurement practices.
