Bad Weather Procedures
When bad weather impacts Crandall ISD, rely on district communication as the official source of information. Announcements will be shared through:
- Website – crandall-isd.net
- Twitter – twitter.com/officialcisd
- Facebook – facebook.com/crandallisd
- Instagram – instagram.com/officialcisd
- Skylert – telephone notification system
Contact information must be up-to-date for families to receive Skylert calls, texts and emails. Television and radio stations will also be notified but their announcements are delayed.
All efforts are made to communicate a decision by 6 a.m. to close or delay schools. Student safety is always top priority. Procedures include:
- Consultation with the National Weather Service, Texas Dept. of Transportation and local law enforcement agencies
- Travel throughout Crandall ISD and the surrounding communities, determining weather impact to bus routes
- Consultation with neighboring school districts
