Bad Weather Procedures

When bad weather impacts Crandall ISD, rely on district communication as the official source of information. Announcements will be shared through:

Contact information must be up-to-date for families to receive Skylert calls, texts and emails. Television and radio stations will also be notified but their announcements are delayed.

All efforts are made to communicate a decision by 6 a.m. to close or delay schools. Student safety is always top priority. Procedures include:

  • Consultation with the National Weather Service, Texas Dept. of Transportation and local law enforcement agencies
  • Travel throughout Crandall ISD and the surrounding communities, determining weather impact to bus routes
  • Consultation with neighboring school districts
