Happy Sunday afternoon, Pirates. It is great to be back with you this afternoon. Wanted to bring your attention to three really important things that are happening this week. It is Homecoming Week. And that is a really exciting week with lots of activities. Every school has dress up days. We have lots of fun things happening.

But what is most important for most of our community members is this homecoming parade. We want you to monitor our social media accounts. Those social media accounts will have all of the latest information from things like The Parade route if there's any weather changes that cause us to have to do something different.

Social media is the place to follow. The Parade starts at 5:30pm this Wednesday and we look forward to seeing you out there and joining us and cheering on our Pirates. Secondly, we wanted to tell you about a new program that is coming back to Crandall. It's called our VIP program or our Very Informed Pirates.

And so this program gives community members or parents. The opportunity to kind of see what happens behind the scenes in Crandall ISD you'll get to see things like food service and transportation and do a campus visit and just find out a lot of things that are happening in our district. But it does require you to sign up because there's a t shirt or there's a shirt that's coming. And so we want to make sure that you sign up early so that you can pick your size and have your shirt available for that day. VIP will happen on October 8, but we need you to sign up pretty quickly. So please go to our website and check out the portion of our VIP.

Lastly, I know it has been a pretty challenging week this week with a lot of safety issues and concerns that have come across our desk. I just wanted to bring your attention to a really important portion of our website. This is the safety and security place for our district where we have videos for parents. So, for example, if a class or a building is put on a hold for whatever reason, there's a link on this website that will show you what happens, what is your student experience during a hold. Why do we use a hold? We want to make sure that you know about this website.

I also want to bring your attention to we have a program called TEXT-A-TIP, and this is an opportunity for students or parents to provide us information anonymously about concerns that you may have.

And of course we still have our let's connect page where if you need information, you're always welcome to submit a let's connect check out our safety and security website. We have a great team that mans that and takes care of that. We have a great group of people that take care of your kids each and every day.

Safety is our priority and we want you to feel confident in the relationship and make sure that you know that we're doing everything that we can to take care of your kid. We hope you have a great week. We look forward to seeing you out at the parade and Go Pirates.
