Student Dress Code

As we prepare for the next academic year, we wanted to inform you of some important changes to our school's dress code policy that will be implemented starting the first day of the upcoming school year, August 15, 2023.

In Crandall ISD, we believe in maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes safety, respect, and a sense of community among our students. With this goal in mind, we have reviewed our current dress code policy to ensure that it aligns with our values and provides clarity to our students and staff.

We would like to highlight the following key changes to the dress code for the upcoming school year:

  • Hooded outerwear, hooded sweatshirts, and shirts with hoods must not be worn inside CISD buildings or on CISD buses (no hoodies are allowed; hoodless outerwear and hoodless sweatshirts are allowed)
  • Denim blue or black jeans or bottoms with no holes, rips, tears, or frays are allowed Monday through Friday.

While standards of dress and grooming have changed over the years, it remains a goal of Crandall ISD to maintain an educational environment that is safe and beneficial to learning. CISD’s dress code provides guidance to students for appropriate attire at school and school functions. It also serves as a means to teach students the importance of respectable appearance, which is a lesson that can positively impact their self-respect and self-esteem.
