Superintendent's Message

Greetings Pirate Community!

Here we are, back again already. Where did the summer go? We have accomplished a lot over the summer and look forward to a great 2018-2019 school year!

Let us talk facilities for a moment. Kudos to our maintenance department for accomplishing great feats. In addition to their “normal” workload, our crew completed over 15 construction projects in-house. The middle school foyer is almost complete, and we hope to be ready for upcoming sporting events. If not, we have Plan B in place. We completed the construction of Noble-Reed Elementary School and now eagerly await the installation of the Boulevard from 148 to the school.

CISD hosted the first CRUISE week for our staff development. We offered over 160 courses on topics ranging from differentiation to classroom management. We applaud our staff as we had 366 attend our sessions. CISD also participated in the Revolutionize Learning Conference held in Royce City, and we loved seeing over 50 teachers attend these sessions. Finally, we hosted staff development sessions from Region 10 at the middle school and once again saw many of our teachers attend. In all, our staff had the opportunity to participate in over 470 staff development sessions.

It is another year of growth for CISD. We expect an increase of more than 250 students. Enrollment influences teaching units, and we added 26 positions to our team. Our new teachers arrived on July 31, and are excited to become Pirates, as there is “No Place Like Home!” The rest of the team will return August 7 for our annual convocation, followed by two weeks of training for our students to return on August 22nd.

We thank you for the opportunity to teach your child(ren). Please know we take this responsibility seriously and strive to provide each child and exceptional education, in an inspiring environment, with caring people.
