Thursday, November 19, 2015 was an exciting day for several Crandall ISD teachers who received a surprise visit by members of the Crandall ISD Education Foundation P3 Pirate Prize Patrol to award the 2015 fall education grants. The Crandall ISD Education Foundation offers several different kinds of grants made available to CISD teachers and staff.
Earlier in the school year, teachers and staff had an opportunity to attend free grant workshops provided by the Foundation. Educators were encouraged to complete applications for grants to fund innovative classroom projects, inspiring lesson plans, and enriching programs to create inspiring learning for Crandall ISD students.
Funding for grants comes from the generosity of the following Foundation's Founding Partners, community, CISD employees, and dedicated investors: Barber Specialties, Inc., WRA Architects, Inc., Gallagher Construction, LP, The Eugene McDermott Foundation, Gomez Floor Covering, Daniel Steel Industries, Inc. American National Bank of Texas, Ruzicka Family, B&B Ready Mix, Brawner Custom homes, Chalak Mitra Capita, LLC, City Market, GCA Services, G & K Services, Janice Dowlearn, Jim & Charlinda Gray, Hodges Capital Management, Linebargeer, Goggan, Blair & Sampson, Matlock Realty, Matlock's Country Store, Patel Family, Project Graduation 2014, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, Settles Family, Spirit Unlimited, Tandus Centiva, Templeton Demographics, and all of the Foundation Friends.
"Crandall ISD is known for having a supportive community with great schools and teachers," said Crandall ISD Education Foundation President Amy Barber. "We are so grateful for the investments our donors continue to give to make Crandall ISD schools more innovative, enriching, and inspiring every day through private monetary donations. Our volunteers and donors love sharing in the excitement of classroom grant giving and helping to continue the mission of Crandall ISD to provide each student an exceptional education, in an inspiring environment, with caring people. The Crandall ISD Education Foundation is proud to be able to provide resources to strengthen teaching and learning to foster successful students!"
The Crandall ISD Education Foundation celebrates it's second year of operation and second round of grant giving to benefit Crandall ISD schools. "We are so excited about our upcoming community concert Lights on the Lawn Music Fest 2015," said Kristin Reznicek Executive Director of the Foundation. "We knew without a large number of local businesses in our area we would have to come up with creative strategies to continue fundraising efforts each year. I have to credit Foundation President Amy Barber who has led the way with her vision to create an annual fall concert event to increase funding. This year we will host our first Lights on the Lawn Music Fest concert on Saturday, November 28th and use proceeds to help us fund even more grants in the spring of 2016."
The Crandall ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that funds priority programs identified by the school district for which tax dollars are not available.
