Good evening, Pirates!
As this third week of the school year comes to a close and we look ahead to Labor Day weekend, I want to thank our teachers and staff for all the hard work they have put into making this year start off so successfully. I am constantly in awe of how our teachers provide support and care to one another, to our students and to their families, even in challenging times.
In a phone call two weeks ago, I mentioned our new interactive customer service platform, Let’s Connect. Well, it is now available. Let’s Connect is designed to provide feedback to our CISD community. Our CISD families can submit questions, ideas, concerns or compliments, and receive a timely response from a CISD staff member. This will also help us maintain an ongoing FAQ with answers available on the district website. To find out more visit, CISD Let's Connect.
Last week, I mentioned our Covid-19 dashboard where parents can easily see updated case counts throughout the district. The dashboard is now available here and will be housed on the district website under the Covid-19 tab.
Next week kicks off our homecoming week, where the community will unite and show its Pirate Pride. The annual homecoming parade is back and begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, in downtown Crandall. The parade will feature students representing all CISD schools, including many of our high school clubs, organizations, teams and fine arts groups. We hope new, future and former Pirates will join in the celebration!
Finally, our goal is to continue keeping everyone safe. Please remember the mitigation strategies that we have in place, which are recommended by the CDC and other national health authorities. They include keeping students distanced when possible, encouraging good hygiene, and frequent cleaning of common areas. Additionally, please keep your student home when they are sick.
This holiday weekend, please take time to relax with family and friends and recharge for the week ahead. I am deeply grateful for our Pirate community and what each of you do for our students at CISD.
