Good afternoon, Pirates.

We are thrilled that our community supported school bond propositions A and C on yesterday's ballot. That support allows us to move forward and begin meeting a lot of our growth needs with new schools, security, technology, buses, a new transportation facility, a CTE center, and an all-new performing arts center at Crandall High School.

However, Pirate Stadium still needs to be addressed as Proposition B did not pass. Our growth is not going away and Pirate Stadium is facing the same increased usage demands as all our facilities. Our boys and girls athletics programs are adding new students every month, our band is at its highest enrollment ever, and our cheer and drill teams draw more spectators each time they win a state or national title. We will reconnect with our community soon on more plans because we need to keep our students, coaches and spectators safe while they visit Pirate Stadium.

On behalf of our students, teachers, staff and the Board of Trustees, I want to say thank you to all who voted. And Happy Mother’s Day to a very important group of people who help raise our Pirates.

Enjoy your afternoon,

Dr. Wendy Eldredge
CISD Superintendent
