February 25, 2022
You know what would be nice? If we did not have all four seasons of weather in one week. But despite the cold weather, warmth is radiating in our district. Here are some of the great things our students and staff have been involved with the past week:
- Our FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) students from Crandall HS are headed to the state competition April after competing in nine different categories at the regional level
- 12 students from the CHS choir scored First Division “Superior” ratings at the 2022 Region III Vocal Solo and Ensemble contest, held last Saturday at West Mesquite HS
- Bus Driver Appreciation Week came and went, but not before the School Board and I were able to present drivers with CISD winter caps just before the cold arrived
- Stephanie Bass received the first-ever Superintendent Award, designed to honor CISD’s support-staff workers who go above and beyond the call of duty as they perform their job responsibilities.
And guess what? Weather popped into the week, as well. As I mentioned in last week’s message, we will use March 7 as a make-up day for missed school Feb. 3-4. The time we missed yesterday will also need to be recovered. Once the make-up time becomes clear, we will share more information.
Enjoy your weekend, Pirates. When you get cold just remember, the forecast calls for temps near 80 again in just a few days.
