Crandall ISD Cosmetology Students Host Annual Princess Party for Community
Crandall ISD’s Cosmetology Department transformed into a royal beauty salon during its annual Princess Party, an event where about 50 little girls from the community were treated to a day of pampering. Dressed in princess gowns, both the young guests and the cosmetology students enjoyed an afternoon filled with hairstyling, manicures, and sweet treats, including punch and cookies.
The event serves as a fundraiser to support student learning opportunities. This year, proceeds will help fund a class trip to a professional spa, where students will experience the industry firsthand while also getting a little pampering themselves.
"The smiles you see on the kids’ faces, they just warm your heart.” said Alecsus Armstrong, a cosmetology student at Crandall ISD. “When I was little, I just wanted to be a princess. So making them feel like they were princesses just made my heart warm.”
One particularly special guest at this year’s event was the grandmother of a cosmetology student, who decided to join in the fun and have her hair and nails done alongside the young princesses.
"I liked her personality because it was really fun," added Yoselin Gonzalez-Diaz. “She was really excited with her nails.”
Crandall ISD’s cosmetology teacher, Rachel Gerlaugh, expressed pride in the students’ dedication to the event. “I feel like the students did well, and I feel like the little princess felt pampered and loved on. Very beautiful.”
With smiles, laughter, and a touch of royal magic, this year’s Princess Party was a huge success, leaving both the cosmetology stu
dents and their young guests feeling like royalty.
