The TSI Success Initiative is a program mandated by the state of Texas for all Texas public colleges and universities. It is designed to help colleges and universities determine if you are ready for college-level course work in the general areas of reading, writing and math. This program also will help determine what type of course or intervention will best meet your needs to help you become better prepared for college level course work if you are not ready. If you are an incoming college student in Texas, you are required to take the TSI Assessment.
There are exemptions from the TSI for graduating seniors entering college.
The exemptions are as follows:
TSI for Dual Credit Students
Crandall High School dual credit students must take and pass the TSI assessment. Before testing, students must complete a Pre-Assessment Activity. After completion of the Pre-Assessment Activity, you must print the PAA certificate and turn into the counselor’s office. The Pre-Assessment Activity can be found on the Trinity Valley Community College website. www.2.tvcc.edu/testing The current cost of the TSI is $15.00.
