Superintendent's Message

Welcome back for the 2015-2016 school year! Our staff has worked tirelessly to prepare for your students. A special thank you to our maintenance staff, led by Alan Lovell, for all of their hard work preparing our facilities for staff and students. I hope you have noticed our new rail around the old baseball field, an update of the Community Center, and what you may not know, a new collegial corner at Wilson Elementary and Martin Elementary, and remodeling at Walker Elementary to create more classrooms. All of this plus the normal cleaning and upkeep of our wonderful facilities.

Not near enough thanks can be given to our staff. These men and women have worked all summer preparing their curriculum, revising their assessments, and creating inspiring learning environments. We are nearing the end of our back to school staff development, and I am so proud watching them work together analyzing data and discovering the best way to teach the state curriculum. Spending countless hours identifying weaknesses in our curriculum, as identified through state and local assessments, is not an easy task. Our staff rolled up their sleeves, entered the meetings with open minds and positive attitudes, and got to work! We are very proud of these dedicated teachers!

Our core values are character, compassion, and community. I am proud to share with you examples of how our actions represent our values. Our teachers have visited homes of their students. Our teachers have reached out to the community with popsicles and enrollment information. Our coaches, and directors, and sponsors have arrived early and are staying late to prepare their kids for success on the court or on the field. Our teachers competed in an Amazing Race and spent time in our computer lab to improve their talents and technology proficiency. Of course, these are only a few examples. The point is simple…we are proud of staff and are blessed we have them in Crandall.

The CISD family is excited to see your students. We are committed to serving you and your family. We look forward to a great 2015-2016 school year!
